Around Hua Hin

Khao Takiab
This fast developing town is situated only some 7 kms from Hua Hin and is quickly becoming a fully self-contained holiday destination with amenities ranging from accommodation, beaches, activities, restaurants and bars.

Khao Tao
Not to be confused with the diving island of Koh Tao which is some way south of Hua Hin and off Chumphon, Khao Tao is a charming village with a wonderful beach. The beach is seperately named Hat Sai Noi.

Khao Kalok
Some 40km south of Hua Hin is the peaceful bay of Khao Kalok. To reach this beach, you need to follow the main highway south to Pranburi, turn left to Pak Nam Pran and take the second major turn on the right.

Cha am
This coastal town is found 25km north of Hua Hin and whilst not as large, it is developing. Cha-am has been a favourite holiday and weekend destination for Thais for many years and this is still the case.

Situated some 30km south of Hua Hin, Pranburi and Paknampran are fast becoming tourist destinations of their own right. For many years, they were not so favoured, either with locals or tourists, as most people stayed in Hua Hin or Ch-am.

This historic town is certainly worth a day or two's visit from Hua Hin. It is some 80km north and is easily reachable by bus, taxi or train. The journey takes around an hour.

The town of the above name is, not surprisingly, the provincial and administrative capital of Prachuabkirikhan province. It is definitely worth a visit for a day or two to experience the more "laid back" Thai feeling of the town.
